The total rainfall for the entire month of January in OKC has only been .07 inches. This January will go down as the 6th driest on record. The moisture we got from the snow this morning will do very little to help with our extremely dry conditions.

Wednesday will be another windy day, and consequently another high fire risk day. Highs will finally climb above freezing Wednesday afternoon with highs in the mid and upper 40s. Winds will be out of the south at 15 to 25 mph. Thursday will be even warmer and winds will be a little stronger. Highs will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s on Thursday afternoon with winds out of the south 20 to 30 mph.

Our next winter storm is taking shape over the Pacific Ocean and is scheduled to arrive in Oklahoma Tuesday February 4th. The exact details are not pinned down just yet. As of now, it looks to bring rain that will change to a mix, then all snow by late in the day. We will continue to analyze the very latest data and keep you up to date. This system is our best shot for decent precipitation across the state in over a month.
