Residents in parts of Oklahoma saw snow as a winter storm moved across the state Sunday morning. The weather is expected to clear briefly before another system with snow and possibly freezing rain moves across both states starting late Monday.

Winter Storm Warnings, Advisories

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. for several counties, including Caddo County, Cleveland County, Garvin County and more.

Several counties, including Oklahoma County and Logan County, are under a winter storm advisory until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for far southeastern Oklahoma, a winter storm warning from Oklahoma to Arkansas and winter weather advisories in much of the two states on Sunday.

Road Conditions

According to the Department of Public Safety, as of 10:30 a.m., roads were being reported as slick and hazardous in southwestern, central and southeastern Oklahoma. Crews treated roadways with salt and sand. Travel is highly discouraged in theses areas. If you must drive, use extreme caution.

In northwestern Oklahoma, roads are reported to be slick in spots. Crews are treating roadways as needed. Drivers need to remain cautious in this area.

During snow and/or ice conditions, motorists need to:

• Check road conditions before getting out on the roads.

• Be aware of "black ice," which looks wet on the roadway, but is actually a thin layer of ice.

• Stay at least 200 feet behind road-clearing equipment; crews need room to maneuver and can engage plowing or spreading materials without notice.

If drivers must travel out of state, they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.

Accident Reports

News 9 photojournalist Michael Johnston reported seeing a 4-car accident at the on-ramp of Interstate 35 northbound near Highway 9 in Norman.

Johnston also reported seeing a three-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-35 near 19th Street in Moore. I-35 southbound in that area is shut down at this time.

Crews are also responding to an accident in the westbound lanes of I-44 near Classen.

Lt. Brian Orr with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said troopers are responding to multiple non-injury accidents across Oklahoma County.

Lt. Eddie Southard with the Oklahoma City Police Department said officers saw many vehicles in ditches. Their response time has been slowed.

As of 3:30 p.m. OHP says they are returning to normal operations; responding to *ALL* traffic accidents.

Check OHP's Twitter page for accident updates.

Lt. Southard said so far, both injury and non-injury accidents have been reported in Oklahoma City. He urges residents to stay home if they can. And if you have to travel, allow extra time and slow down.

Check school and church closings.

Authorities said despite numerous traffic accidents there have been no fatalities reported as the storm that entered Oklahoma Sunday morning moved into Arkansas by Sunday afternoon.

Flight Cancellations

Some flights from Will Rogers World Airport and Tulsa International Airport to and from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport have been canceled as a winter storm brings snow and sleet to the region.

Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City reported one arrival and one departure to Dallas were canceled on Sunday while Tulsa International Airport reported three flights to and from Dallas were canceled.

The winter storm moved into southwestern Oklahoma Sunday morning with snow, sleet and ice while the Dallas area was expected to receive about an inch of snow and sleet.
