Oklahoma City Police are searching for a group of robbers accused of kidnapping a man, then beating him with pistols and a screwdriver.

Hiep Hoang said he was sitting in his car at his apartment in the 5900 block of South May Avenue just before heading to work when two armed men and two women ambushed him.

They forced him into the backseat and drove away with him. The robbers stole his cell phone, $80 in cash and his wallet with his ATM cards.

Hoang said the suspects then forced him into his trunk and pistol whipped him for his ATM PIN. Hoang speaks Vietnamese and not much English. When he could not answer the suspects, one of them stabbed him in the leg with a screwdriver.

The men and women finally left, and Hoang was able to kick the trunk until it popped open. He ran to a nearby store for help. Hoang is now covered in cuts, bruises and whelps from his head down to his legs.

"He opened the door and I said, ‘Oh my God!' He had blood and everything and I said, ‘Oh my God,'" said Phuong Vu, Hoang's roommate.

Investigators said one of the black females was caught on surveillance cameras at a nearby Starbucks around the time of the attack. Police said Hoang did the right thing in the crime.

"He did well. He complied with their demands and he lived to tell the tale. I'm sure it wasn't a pleasant experience, but he did survive the attack," said Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Hoang has had to take time off from work and does not plan on leaving his apartment again anytime soon.

On Friday, Oklahoma City police released more photos of the suspects. They were caught on a surveillance camera at the Champs store at Penn Square Mall.

If you recognize these suspects, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
