OKC Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect Following Chase

Police have arrested a suspect who robbed a southeast Oklahoma City motel and led officers on a chase early Monday morning.

Police have arrested a suspect who robbed a southeast Oklahoma City motel and led officers on a chase early Monday morning.

According to police, it happened at about 5:30 a.m. at the Plaza Inn on the Interstate 35 service road near S.E. 29th Street. An employee said a man armed with a handgun jumped the counter and demanded money from her. 

The employee said she gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police, officers arrived as the suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Leondrick Brown, was leaving the scene. He then led officers on a high-speed pursuit.

Police said the chase ended near S.E. 48th Street and Sooner Road, and Brown ran away from the scene on foot. Officers apprehended him quickly and took him into custody. His car has been towed.
