A man strips down in the middle of a busy metro intersection during rush hour, and then walks in and out of traffic before he's tackled. And, it was all recorded.
It was definitely an evening a lot of people won't forget. Several people were trying to get the man off the street, but if it wasn't for one guy, things could have turned out a lot worse.
"I started off there, made it to here, went to the middle of the street," said Tony Earp.
Earp wasn't expecting to see a naked man outside of his business during the middle of rush hour.
"I was actually inside Tony Foss Flowers and someone said there was a gentleman that was naked running up and down the road," said Earp.
And sure enough, there was a man naked in the middle of May Ave.
"I yelled at him to get out of the road," said Earp. "He got down immediately in the middle of the road."
"I see people from Sonic, and different businesses trying to motion, and I look to the front, and I saw this man without any clothes on, completely naked in the middle of May," said Demee Caporal.
Caporal shot the cell phone video on her way to run an errand. In it, you can see Tony telling the guy to "stay there" before he tells him to crawl to the grass.
"Main thing, I just didn't want him to hurt himself, or somebody else," said Earp.
A pair of high top tennis shoes, jeans and what appears to be a white t-shirt were dumped in the middle of the street.
"He's trying almost to get hit," said Caporal. "They took him to the side in the grass and he gets body slammed."
"You just watch what you're grabbing when you're trying to put him down," laughed Earp. "And just try to be as careful as possible."
Earp says it took police about 15 minutes to arrive. He and another guy sat on the man until they got there.
"It was something I will never forget," said Earp.
Witnesses say the naked man was arrested on the scene.
Police have identified the man as 29-year-old Darnell Jones. He was arrested on charges of indecent exposure.
