Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett has won re-election to a fourth term on Tuesday.

Mick Cornett has won his fourth term as Oklahoma City Mayor after Ed Shadid conceded.

This is a historic win for Cornett.  He is the first Oklahoma City Mayor to be elected to a fourth term.  If Cornett finishes his fourth term, he will become OKC's longest serving mayor at 14 years.

Mayor Cornett says he sought re-election, in part, because he loves the job, but also because he believes the city is doing well and he wants to see through to completion some of the projects he's started.

Cornett's Mayoral Election history:

2004 – Elected mayor with 58% of the vote

2006 – Re-elected with 87% of the vote (the highest percentage for any mayoral candidate in city history.)

2010 – Re-elected with 58% of the vote

2014 - Re-elected for a fourth term

Dr. Shadid is a board-certified spinal surgeon. He's been the City of OKC Ward 2 councilman since 2011. This was his first run for mayor.

Cornett won 66% of the vote. Ward 2 Councilman Ed Shadid received 33%, Phil Hughes received 1%, and Joe Nelson received 1% of the vote.

Voter turnout in Oklahoma County for the OKC Mayor's Race was 17%.
