Fire and rescue teams have recovered the body of a child who was inside an Oklahoma City home that caught fire early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire just before 5:30 a.m. at a home in the 1300 block of S.W. 23rd Street between Blackwelder and Indiana Avenues.

911 dispatchers say they received multiple calls from neighbors who heard explosions before seeing the fire consume the house.

A woman inside the house at the time of the blast has been rushed to a hospital.  She is being treated for smoke inhalation.  She told firefighters her grandson, 6-year-old Tyler Spears, was also inside the house at the time of the fire.

At 6:15 a.m. firefighters confirmed they found the child's body.

The woman's husband was at work at the time of the fire.  He's now at the scene speaking with investigators.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
