Two brothers helped evacuate residents at a Midwest City apartment complex, after they noticed a fire while walking their dogs.
Evan Kosec said he and his brother were walking their dogs near an apartment complex, located at 6000 E. Reno, when they saw smoke coming from a chimney. Kosec said he and his brother ran around the building and notice the flames.
"My brother was already upstairs, kicking in the door," said Kosec. "Walked inside, cleared it out and made sure everybody else around, all the neighbors were out."
Kosec said no one was inside the apartment where they kicked in the door.
"You just act instead of anything else," said Kosec. "You don't care about anything. See it, make sure everybody's out."
Kosec said the fire was coming out of the ceiling, and there was lots of smoke.
Midwest City officials said there were no injuries, eight units received fire and water damage and the Red Cross is helping displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
