A couple of days of upper 90s and lower 100s is acceptable when highs drop into the lower 70s next week, right?
Highs today will be mostly in the upper 90s with a few lower 100s in southwest Oklahoma. Look for a southwest wind at 15 to 30 mph.
Tomorrow, highs get a little hotter. I think we'll see our first 100° day of 2014 in Oklahoma City. A weak front will move into northern Oklahoma Sunday afternoon, bringing "not as hot" temperatures and a slight chance of rain.
Then, the big pattern change takes shape as the heat dome heads west and the big low pressure system, with its big cool down, moves into Oklahoma.
Highs will drop into the mid 80s on Tuesday afternoon and into the LOWER 70s on Wednesday and Thursday. We'll also have the best chances for rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
A VERY welcome July forecast, this week.
