Showers, Thunderstorms Continue Through Wednesday In Oklahoma

Our first wave of showers and storms is pushing through now, but more widespread heavy rain will move in tonight.

Morning showers and t-storms will continue to push to the east through the day today. We will dry out in the west with spotty showers lingering in central Oklahoma.

Highs today will only top out in the 70s and low 80s, likely breaking record cool highs across the state. Late this evening more storms are expected to develop west and northwest of the state moving into to far western Oklahoma after 7:00 PM.

These storms could be strong to severe initially with hail and wind the main threats. As storms push east overnight, they will likely weaken below the severe level, but will pose a risk for flash flooding.

Be aware during your Thursday morning commute, ponding on roadways could cause serious problems. Especially in low lying areas. Many areas will receive 1 to 2 inches of rain through Thursday afternoon, and some localized areas could see over 4 inches.

A Flash Flood Watch will go into effect tonight though Friday afternoon for the counties in blue. This does include Oklahoma county.
