First, let's take a moment to look back at this three-day stretch two years ago. August 1 through August 3, 2012 was brutal. Lows in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s and afternoon highs of AT LEAST 112. August 3 both set AND tied new records. Thankfully, nothing like that is showing up today.

Our forecast today will mimic yesterday's in terms of temperatures. Highs today will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s with an east/southeast wind at only five to 15 mph. It will feel a little more humid this afternoon without a consistent breeze.

Monday's highs will be a few degrees warmer, bringing the entire state into the low and mid 90s.

Looking ahead this week, temperatures will slowly warm up into the mid 90s by Wednesday with the potential for a few scattered showers and storms Wednesday through Saturday. That may help to cool temperatures off a little bit, but I don't see us dropping back into the 60s and 70s as we did twice in July.
