Police are trying to figure out the identity of an armed robbery suspect who they believe has hit the Walmart at SE 15th and Sooner Rd. three times in the last year. This latest time, however, surveillance cameras captured his every move.
Police describe as 5’5”-5’6”, 140 pounds, and wearing a dark colored jersey with #3 on it, jeans, and dark sunglasses during the robbery. The security footage shows him walking up to the money services center inside the Walmart. He then flashes a gun on his hip before handing over a card telling the cashier to load money onto it.
“We do believe he is dangerous,” said Maj. Jody Suit with the Del City Police.
Police say the suspect used the back of his hand on a keypad so not to leave fingerprints behind as the teller loads money onto his card. That was a giveaway that the robber knew what he was doing.
“We have reason to believe that about a week ago he robbed a teller at our Wal-Mart store, strong-arm robbery. Didn't show a weapon but intimidation,” said Suit. “We believe he's probably from around the area. He's proved he is a serial robber.”
The security footage also shows the suspect instructing the cashier to empty the large bills from the cash drawer. She complies, and he leaves. Investigators now also believe the suspect robbed the store about a year ago, too. They say he used the same black Dodge pickup truck to get away after both robberies.
Del City Police say since this guy most likely lives in the area, someone out there knows who he is. If you recognize him, you should call the Del City Police at (405) 677-2443. You can remain anonymous.
