A man reportedly drowned in a hot tub at an Edmond home Friday morning.

According to Edmond police, 46-year-old Barton McSpadden drowned in a hot tub at his home, located in the 4300 block of Caliburn Parkway. It's near Coffee Creek and N. Bryant. Police said McSpadden's wife found his body at about 6:30 a.m.

The family had just installed the pool and hot tub less than a year ago. Detectives are trying to figure out if McSpadden suffered any medical condition.  At this time, police do not believe foul play was involved.

McSpadden leaves behind his wife and four children.  He was a lobbyist for the Oklahoma Pork Council.

His father, Clem, was Oklahoma's U.S. Representative (2nd District) from 1973 to 1975. Clem was also the grand-nephew of Will Rogers.

News 9 reporter Rachel Calderon spoke with a neighbor, who said McSpadden was the kind of person who would help anyone in need.
