An accident involving a semi on the eastbound side of Interstate 40 is causing some traffic tie-ups just east of the Oklahoma City metro, Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene after reports of a tractor trailer crashed into the cable barriers of I-40 eastbound, just west of S. Choctaw Rd., around 4 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved and no injuries have been reported. All lanes are moving at this time, though traffic is backed up for miles on both I-40 eastbound and on the I-240 junction into I-40.
Authorities are not sure what caused the semi to depart the road and crash into the cable barriers.
