It's going to be hot by October standards out there today. Stay hydrated and find some alternative indoor plans if you can. We are looking at record high temperatures in the upper 80s this afternoon under sunny skies. Under mostly clear skies, we only drop to the low 60s overnight.
We're not expecting much change on Sunday. Highs should still manage to reach the mid to upper 80s under sunny skies with high pressure in full control over the southern plains. Our wind out of the southwest will pick up between 15 to 25 mph at times.
Finally, a cold front comes through late Monday bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures go from the low 80s on Monday to the upper 60s on Tuesday. The cooler more seasonal temperatures stick around through the remainder of the week.
