Oklahoma City firefighters put out two house fires early Wednesday morning.

An Oklahoma City family is alive thanks to their next door neighbor. Their house caught fire at about 2 a.m. while the three of them were sleeping.

Firefighters said a neighbor who saw the fire rushed over and banged on the doors to wake them up. This was on Shallow Brook Drive near I-35 and S.E. 44th Street.

Firefighters were also able to save several dogs that were trapped inside. They said the fire started in the attic, but they're not sure what caused it.

At about 4:30 a.m., Oklahoma City firefighters responded to another house fire on N.E. 34th and Rhode Island Avenue.

Storm Tracker Alan Broerse was on the scene. He said the home looks like a total loss. No word on injuries or a cause.
