Remember the dance moves? The Norman Police recruitment video to the tune of one of Frozen's songs has now racked up more than 46,000 views!

But not everyone is loving the video.

Despite critics voicing their opinions in the local paper and pictures on the internet mocking the department and its staff, Officer Pendleton is shaking it off because the video still has people talking.

From Disney princesses to Care Bears, critics got creative while poking fun at the Norman Police Department's recruitment video released last week.

Even former Police Chief Phil Cotten's wife chimed in.

She wrote a letter to the Editor of the Norman Transcript this week saying in part, "I was totally embarrassed at this behavior and attitude toward the uniform he was wearing as he performed."

Despite some backlash, Officer Carl Pendleton said calls from all over the country keep his phone ringing constantly.

“If you like it or you don't the whole point is the fact that people are talking about us,” said Officer Carl Pendleton, Norman Police.

Not only talking about the department, but also wanting to work for Norman P.D.

“With everything that's going on in the country, it's been kind of a rough few months for law enforcement. And so for people to see that law enforcement can be human and can have a good time, smile and laugh a little bit. I think that really goes a long way,” said Officer Pendleton.

This dinosaur walking, ball bouncing, pirouette twirling cop said it's okay to cut loose some times, even in uniform.

“It doesn't take away from what we do every day. We have a very serious job. Because we have a very serious job you don't have to be serious all the time,” he said.

The second video Officer Pendleton shot, for now, is on hold. Officer Pendleton said he's cooked up another idea for a video.

If you think you've got what it takes to be a Norman police officer you still have time to apply. The deadline is February 13th.
