I hope you LOVE Saturday's forecast. A heart-felt Spring day before Old Man Winter returns with vengeance Sunday.

The forecast will still change more before the winter precipitation begins, so be sure to always check back.

Highs make it into the 70s Saturday afternoon ahead of a stout cold front that moves into northeast Oklahoma late afternoon. Lows Saturday night will drop into the upper 20s.

Sunday, things get interesting. A winter storm watch is in effect beginning Sunday evening for south central and southeastern Oklahoma for the potential for up to one quarter inch of ice accumulating. That's enough for bad roads and maybe some downed trees and power lines.

The precipitation will start Sunday afternoon as drizzle for most of the state. Northern Oklahoma may see a light winter mix. Sunday evening, the precipitation increases. It stays as rain initially in southern Oklahoma.

Look for a light sleet/freezing rain mix in central Oklahoma and mainly snow in far northern Oklahoma. Impacts will likely be much less significant the farther north you travel.

Sunday night into Monday morning, freezing rain takes over where the Winter Storm Watch is located, and the rest of the state transitions to a snow/sleet/freezing rain mix.

There's still a lot of questions with this forecast in terms of precipitation placement and amounts, so as News 9's Matt Mahler said, be sure to check back as we'll be updating the forecast!
