An alleged drug operation discovered just one block from an Edmond elementary school leads to the arrest of three suspects.

As parents swung in out and out of Sunset Elementary School to pick up their children, police said people were going in and out of a drug home just feet away to pick up marijuana.

“My son goes to that school,” a neighbor said.

He also lives right across the street and plays just a stone's throw away from the alleged drug home.

“We got inside, and they had about a pound of marijuana,” Edmond Police Department spokesperson Jenny Monroe said. “They had it divided up into one ounce baggies which would be for sale.”

After getting complaints about the suspected activity at the home, police staked it out and found marijuana divided up into about 17 individual baggies for sale with a street value of 300 to 400 dollars a bag.

“There were two weapons and digital scales and other paraphernalia and things that were needed to sale the marijuana,” she said.

Police arrested three people, Connell Smith, Alisha Poole and Tre'Aric Brunious.

“Anytime that we can take care of a house like this we try,” Monroe said. “We do about 50 of these types of search warrants a year.”

All three are facing several charges including possession of drugs within 100 feet of a school and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
