That video was shown to the jury and to everyone who was in the courtroom, which included several members of the victim's family.
“I was relieved, said Kevia Bloomer, one of Tia's sisters. “I was happy that my sister gets justice. I'm just happy for it to all be over with.”
Kevia and her sister Jhanta'e were inside the courtroom when the judge read the verdict to their sister's killer. They also had to watch and relive her brutal death when prosecutors showed the jury the surveillance video that captured every moment of the attack.
“Yeah it was tough just to see him in action and to see him not stop and to do something intentionally and repetitively,” said Jhanta'e Bloomer. “It hurts! It just hurts to see my sister like that.”
Emergency crews tried everything they could to save the young mother, but she later died at the hospital from numerous internal injuries.
And witnesses who were there that day couldn't believe what they were seeing right in front of them.
Tia Bloomer's family is now just focusing their attention on the 4-year-old son she left behind.
“Seeing him here you know growing up. We're just happy we have a piece of her still here,” said Kevia Bloomer.
Turns out Tia Bloomer had filed multiple victims protective orders against Tryon in the past, but never went through with them. And she was on her way to file another one the day she was killed.
Now, Tryon waits to see if he will be put to death for killing her.
As for the Bloomer family, they are just glad he was convicted.
“I kind of just want him to rot in a cell,” said Kevia Bloomer.
The jury will be hearing from several character witnesses from both sides to see if Tryon deserves the death penalty.
A decision is expected next week.
