A couple of thieves made off with about $30,000 worth of photography equipment, and the act was all caught on camera.

Skid marks were the only thing that was left after a couple of men scouted out Digital Express Photography just south of the metro, but while they were loading up on cameras, their picture was being taken. You could see their pewter colored Suburban back up to a trailer loaded with cameras and equipment.

“They pulled to the back of the parking lot, sat there for a while, and you see two suspects come up to the trailer,” McClain County Captain James Harryman said. “They looked inside the trailer and walked back around to get their vehicle.”

The trailer was attached to an SUV, but the two suspects somehow unhooked it, and drove off with it. It happened about 4:30 in the morning. About two hours later, they came back and went through the SUV. In all about $30,000 worth of equipment was stolen. While you could get a pretty good look at the getaway car, you couldn't really see the suspects' faces, because they were covered by hoodies.

“It did appear that they were two white males, but that's just going off their hands,” Harryman said. “You could not see their faces at all.”

However, detectives said they believe they know where the two may have been coming from when the crime happened.

“Maybe from the casino,” Harryman said. “We tend to get a lot of people from the casino commit crimes in our county. It was a crime of opportunity.”

The Suburban is an early to mid-2000's model with a spare tire on the front. If you have any information, contact the McClain County Sheriff's Office.
