Authorities confirmed an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper shot at a suspect north of the Chandler toll booth on Highway 18 Tuesday evening.

OHP officials said the call came out as a reckless driver on the Turner Turnpike and it ended near the Chandler toll booth.

Authorities said a trooper tried to pull over the driver and he took off. The chase lasted about 10 minutes and OHP said the driver went through the toll booth. The toll booth worker was warned and reportedly got out of the way. The trooper fired at the male suspect "after he believed the driver had a gun."

OHP officials said they believe the suspect may have thrown a weapon from the vehicle during the pursuit.

The suspect was finally pulled over about two miles north of the toll booth on State Highway 18. Three bullet holes and a shattered back glass could be seen on the suspect's vehicle.

There were no injuries to the suspect, who was taken into custody. The trooper involved was not injured either, OHP officials said.

The suspect was booked into the Lincoln County Jail facing several charges.
