The three young men who were charged Friday in Cleveland County court are all adults in the eyes of the law, but the fourth suspect who was arrested with them was only 17 when this reported rape happened.

And since he was a juvenile, prosecutors said what he did was not a chargeable offense.

The young men facing felony charges of Second Degree Rape are 19-year-old Boston Williams and 18-year-old Terrill Skinner and John Delmoral.

“We're just happy that they are bringing charges,” said Stacey Wright, who is with the group Yes All Daughters, which helps support victims of sexual assault.

She said she has been in contact with the 15-year-old girl at the center of this case as well as her mother.

She said she is disappointed prosecutors did not charge the fourth suspect who was arrested in this case and who was accused of raping the 15-year-old girl along with the others at the Brookwood Village apartments, all because of a legal technicality.

“It's my understanding that he was the ringleader, and so to see him get away with this is extraordinarily disappointing,” said Wright. “But we don't have all the facts of the case that the prosecutors have.”

Wright affirmed this will be a difficult process for the victim and her family, knowing that she will most likely have to testify against the men accused of attacking her.

“The most difficult part of prosecuting these cases for the victim is that they have to continuously relive it over and over and over again,” said Wright. “Otherwise they won't see justice.”

Wright said she's seen this same thing happen in the case of a Norman high student who reported she was raped by a former student there.

“There are people that just don't believe that what happened to these girls is rape again, because they don't know what rape looks like,” said Wright.

Wright said she and Yes All Daughters will continue to support this young victim, her family and others as they go through the process.

Protective orders have been filed against three of the four suspects, ordering them not to have any contact with the 15-year-old victim in this case.
