The active weather pattern I talked about over the weekend is about to kick off! Between now and the end of our 9-day forecast, we have several chances for rain across the state. Let's start with tonight.
Our storm system moves north into Texas Tuesday evening, bringing a slight chance of light scattered showers to south central and southwest Oklahoma. A few tenths of an inch will be possible there by sunrise Wednesday. Rain will continue to increase across the state overnight into Wednesday morning. Expect a soggy morning commute in Oklahoma City.
Rain will continue through the state during the morning before tapering off west to east Wednesday afternoon.
If you don't see rain Wednesday, NEVER FEAR! Another opportunity for rain enters the state on Thursday.
Rainfall totals don't look extremely impressive with these first two rain systems, but we could see anywhere from a quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain over Wednesday and Thursday.
Looking ahead, some of Thursday's rain may linger into Friday morning. Another system will move into the state late Sunday through Monday and into Tuesday morning. The pattern will continue to be favorable for rain chances into the end of next week as well. We certainly need it!
