A metro mom whose infant son suffocated at a daycare is sharing safe sleeping information on her son’s birthday.
Ali Dodd of Edmond made the sleep pamphlet, hoping it helps educate Oklahoma families and daycare providers. Her 11-week-old son, Shepard, died in April 2015 at an in-home daycare.
Dodd said the daycare owner admitted she put Shepard in a car seat and when he fell asleep, he wiggled down so much he suffocated.
Shepard would have turned one on January 14 and Dodd is honoring his life by publicly sharing the pamphlet she made.
“We are going to change Oklahoma for the better, we are going to protect more children,” Dodd told News 9. “Even though I lost my child, no one else should have to.”
