In many cases - people can become trapped among the smoke and flames. Oklahoma firefighters need to act fast to save lives.
They got a lesson Thursday in using the latest rescue equipment needed when lives are on the line.
The firefighters worked with 16 cars donated by 4-A Wrecker Service.
"Until these recruits come out here, don the protective gear and grab the tools in their hands and start applying what they actually have learned in a classroom this is where they are going to pick most of this up," said Major Robert Mitchell of the Oklahoma City Fire Department.
