An Edmond police officer is taking on a new assignment helping moms in need.

When she isn't patrolling the streets, Courtney Gregg is collecting and sorting through donated baby items.

She started Edmond-based All Things Baby after the birth of her own children.

"I started thinking about mothers that couldn't afford to do this and what an important part the nesting instinct is whenever you are having a baby," Gregg said. "You want to prepare things for the baby and have nice things for the baby."

The project is partnered with another charitable organization, the Bethel Foundation.
