Tinker partners with FAA

A unique partnership formed Wednesday between Tinker Air Force Base and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Tinker is now designated as an FAA certified repair station. Tinker is the first Department of Defense installation with the distinction. This allows the 76th Maintenance Wing to do work on the KC-10 tanker aircraft. Tinker recently won the contract to paint the KC-10's.

Another first today for Tinker Wednesday took place when Tinker's 3rd Combat Communications Group and Fort Sill's 6th Battalion 52nd Air Defense Artillery both participated in a joint exercise.
