Hollywood stars are helping fight hunger in Oklahoma by purchasing Swarovski crystal and horse hair belts.

The belts are made by Oklahoma City-native Nicole Barr. Her company, B.E.L.T.S. Inc., stands for Because Every Life Touches Someone; and gives 100 percent of the proceeds to hungry children in Oklahoma.

"Paula Abdul, Marie Osmond, Mario Lopez, Carrie Underwood have been big supporters," Barr said.

One in five children in Oklahoma goes hungry. A B.E.L.T.S' funded program at the Regional Food Bank is helping ease some of the hunger problems in Oklahoma's schools. Every weekend the Food Bank sends kids home with a backpack full of food, bought with money from the belt sales.

Buying just one belt will feed one child for one year.

There are 13 high-quality styles, ranging in price from $100 to $400. The buckles are interchangeable and Barr wanted to add the horses are not hurt, they just received a haircut.

Although it is the famous customers who have helped boost the belts' popularity, anyone can help to make a difference, said Barr.
