LINDSAY, Okla. -- Two Garvin county men died Saturday in a plane crash near Lindsay.

William "Bronc" Jackson and Joe Grimes were traveling in Jackson's single engine plane when the plane crashed shortly after take off from the Lindsay Airport.

Jackson, 53, was a veterinarian. He used his single engine plane to travel between his clinics in Lindsay and Sulphur, family members said. He also was a member of the Lindsay School Board.

Grimes owned a private airport in Mayesville, according to an federal database.

National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration officials were investigate the crash on Sunday, officials said.

Their 2006 Cirrus SR22 fix winged aircraft crashed north of the Lindsay airport at about 5 p.m., authorities said.
