Oklahoma voters head to the polls

Super Tuesday is officially under way.

Oklahoma democrats supporting Senator Clinton's campaign will meet at Tap Works in downtown Oklahoma City when the polls close at 7:00 p.m. Senator Obama supporters will meet at the Bricktown Brewery as well while the republican party supporters are set to meet about 6:30 p.m. on 205 N. Czech Hall to watch the election's results.

Three major candidates have emerged over the last few months for Republicans: former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Arizona Senator John McCain. Only two remain in the public eye for Democrats: junior Senator Barack Obama versus former First Lady Senator Hillary Clinton.

Officials are predicting record turnouts at the polls Tuesday in 24 states participating in Super Tuesday elections, including Oklahoma.

The polls will be opened from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Oklahoma County, if you have any problems or questions, call the election board office at 713-1515.

Just yesterday, NEWS 9 asked registered Democrats who they would vote for in Tuesday's election. Forty seven percent chose Hillary Clinton, while 26 percent liked Barack Obama. The same question was posed to the Republicans, but those numbers were a little closer. Thirty-six percent like John McCain, 29 percent chose Mike Huckabee and 23 percent chose Mitt Romney.
