High schoolers in the metro are rockin' out on the same stage as pop stars.

Mid-Del students got the chance to record a song on the John Lennon Tour bus. The bus is a mobile recording studio that travels around North America turning out new tunes.

"Music and arts education is the first thing to get cut out of school budget," said Jacob Voelzke, music producer and engineer on the bus. "So we roll in with this huge mobile studio, and you know, lay down the law. That you know, this type of thing needs to be enforced."

The non-profit, high tech bus travels to schools, conventions and concerts. A t every, like their one at Midwest City High School, artists create new melodies, Singer Cameron Henderson said.

"When we got there, it was just what I felt," Henderson said. "The beat just gave me a believing in myself type thing. So that's what I went with."

Their song is called "I Know I Will" -- an inspirational R and B pop piece.

"It's something I just made up on the spot," he said. "We were trying to get sounds together, and I was just messing around with it."
