Man hit and killed on NW Expressway

A man was attempting to cross NW Expressway near May Ave. when he was hit by a car and killed Wednesday night, said police.

Several eye witnesses saw a man wearing dark clothing try to cross NW Expressway at around 11 p.m. Wednesday night when he was hit by a car in the center lane, said police.

The man died at the scene.

There was no more information immediately available about how fast the car was going, but police say the area did not have a crosswalk where the man was struck. The police also added it was a dark section of NW Expressway and the man may have been hard to see wearing dark clothes.

The driver was shaken, but had no physical injuries, officials said.
