MUSTANG, Okla. - Residents spent Friday trying to recover their belongings from a Mustang apartment complex that was destroyed by a fire Thursday.
It took firefighters hours to battle the fire that ripped through 12 units in the Fieldstone Apartments. Read the orginal story.
For one renter it was the second time she watched her home go up in flames.
"Our apartment burned down in 2005," Alison Banks said. "I'm just kind of glad because the last time we barely got out alive and were in the hospital."
Banks said she found her most priceless processions.
"I got World War II memorabilia passed down in my family and jewelry and a lot of pictures and jewelry and that mean a lot," she said.
Banks and other residents said they'll be staying at a hotel for now thanks to American Red Cross.
Mustang Deputy Fire Chief Roy Widmann said a candle may have started the fire but the official cause is undetermined.
