Both Senate and House Democrats attended a news conference on Monday at the Capitol; voicing their frustration over a number of bills involving health care reform that either died or were shelved by Republican-led committees.

"They have made a conscious decision to choose insurance companies over people," said Rep. Scott Inman, D-District 94. "Whether it was Steffanie's Law covering children with cancer or it's Nick's Law covering children with autism; they've decided that they would rather side with major corporations that live out-of-state than with their individual constituients that live within their own district."

It is too late for new legislation to be heard, but lawmakers can still attach amendments to existing bills.
