Edmond woman shares Columbine story

EDMOND, Okla. - An Edmond woman is among the survivors of the Columbine High School massacre. Nine years after the shootings, Crystal Woodman Miller continues to share her story of the tragic day.

"For seven and a half minutes, I was underneath that table as my friends and classmates were gunned down," she said.

Woodman Miller said she waited to die as gunmen, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, continued their rampage. At 16-years-old, she prayed for a second chance.

"As the boys were standing above my table and I was bracing for death, they began talking about how they ran out of ammunition they left the library giving us the chance to escape," she said.

When the shootings finally stopped, 12 students and a teacher were dead.

It was painful, I couldn't see light at the end of the tunnel," she said.

Woodman Miller said, in her pain, she made the choice to live again.  The committed Christian now travels the country sharing her faith and a message of hope. 

That's why I wrote my book, "Marked for Life," she said. "To me, that message of saying you know we can marked by tragedy, or by suffering, or by terrible things, or we can choose to be marked for life - by life with a purpose."
