Severe storms possible Thursday

There is a slight risk for parts of central and western Oklahoma to have severe thunderstorms Thursday late afternoon and night.  The threats with these storms include large hail, damaging wind, and isolated tornadoes.

There is a slight risk for parts of central and western Oklahoma to have severe thunderstorms Thursday evening. The threats with these storms include large hail, damaging wind, and isolated tornadoes.

A dryline moved into western Oklahoma through the afternoon, and thunderstorms may develop to the east of this line by early evening.

In addition to the threat for severe storms, to the west of the dryline there will be an elevated risk for wildfires. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday for far western Oklahoma.

Relative humidities will be very low to the west of the dryline, and southerly winds will gust up to around 30 mph at times.

Friday, a cold front will move through the state, bringing the slight chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the state.

Another cold front will begin moving through late Saturday night into Sunday. There is a chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms with this system.
