Irven Box has been the legal analyst for NEWS 9 since 1995 and also works with NEWS 9's sister station, NEWS on 6, in Tulsa.

Irven has a long line of public service. He was a U.S. Marine, discharged in 1962, and then joined the  Oklahoma City Police Department until 1969. He rose to the rank of lieutenant before graduating with a juris doctorate degree from Oklahoma City University in1969.

Since graduation, Irven prosecuted major felony cases with the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office from 1969 to 1974. He also served as a legal advisor for the Oklahoma City Police Department and had duties as an Assistant District Attorney. In 1975, Irven entered into private practice and now works primarily with criminal cases.

Irven has covered such famous cases and events as the O.J. Simpson trial, both the McVeigh and Nichols trials in Denver, the Bill Clinton impeachment, and the Bush/Gore election proceedings. He has appeared on national TV shows, including Dan Rather Reports, 60 Minutes, The Geraldo Rivera Show, The Maury (Povich) Show, and numerous other court-related programs.

Receiving numerous awards, including the Oklahoma Bar Association Pro Bono Award and the Clarence Darrow Award, Irven holds an outstanding trial record as the criminal defense attorney for the state of Oklahoma.

Irven has three sons, one of whom, Stephen, is in practice with him. His eldest son, Jeff is a member of the Scott Adams & Associates Law Firm and Irven's youngest son, Tyler, is currently in pre-law at the University of Oklahoma.
