A life without parole sentence was suggested yesterday to a man convicted of first-degree murder for shooting his wife, Celia, in December 2006.

Celia's two children were witness to the murder. The sentence, granted to 39-year-old Ishmael Vargas, will be formally determined on Feb. 4.
