SHAWNEE -- Bond was revoked for a Shawnee man accused of setting his mother on fire by using rubbing alcohol and a cigarette lighter.

Max Knowlton had been jailed on $100,000 bond but that was revoked after Kathryn Knowlton died of burn injuries.

Authorities said Kathryn Knowlton suffered second- and third-degree burns to her arms, face and torso when she was set on fire December 23rd. She died Sunday.

Max Knowlton was arrested for assault and battery. Prosecutors said they're waiting for the state medical examiner to determine Kathryn Knowlton's cause of death before deciding whether to upgrade the charge to first-degree murder.
