DENVER, Colo. - Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry attended a ceremony at the U.S. mint Wednesday  to mark the striking of the new Oklahoma quarter. The state quarter features the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher and is the first to be made in the final year of the 50 State Quarters Program.

"The public submitted design requests or proposals, over 1,000 proposals," Henry said. "Through the course of a lot of hard work, we now today will strike oklahoma's commemorative quarter."

Between 300 million and 500 million Oklahoma quarters are scheduled to be produced and into circulation by Jan. 28.
