A Del City teenager was arrested Saturday after police say he rammed a stolen truck into a police car.

Del City police officers located a stolen vehicle on SE 25 Terrace near SE 24 Street. A white male was sleeping in the pickup. Officers placed their patrol vehicles in front and behind the truck and then tried to wake the suspect, according to a police report.

The teenager then started the truck and reversed, slamming the police car.

Officers fired six shots at vehicle after the suspect changed direction and started accelerating toward them, the report read. The suspect was not hit.

The suspect drove off from the scene and later crashed the truck and fled by foot. Officers recognized the teen from previous incidents and arrested him at his house on complaints of assault and battery on a police officer and unauthorized use of a motorized vehicle.
