School fire still smolders, demolition needed

The state fire marshal said an 11-year-old boy burning trash behind a school building set it on fire. Firefighters were still on the scene knocking down hot spots two days after the blaze.

CHICKASHA, Okla. -- The state fire marshal said an 11-year-old boy burning trash behind a school building set it on fire. Firefighters were still on the scene knocking down hot spots two days after the blaze.

Small fires were still smoldering beneath roof shingles. The state fire marshal ordered an immediate demolition of the building.

Chickasha School Board President John Gentry said the school district will feel the financial damage from the fire for some time to come.
