The Pride's new drum major

The news9.com INsite team followed The Pride of Oklahoma to this year's Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix. The INsite team gave you a closer look at what it takes to be a band member at the University of Oklahoma. During the trip three students auditioned to be next year's drum major. This weekend The Pride announced 21-year-old Jason Marshall as the 2008-2009 drum major.

"The main thing I look forward to is just being in front of this amazing band," Marshall, an Instrumental Music Education major said. "I'm very honored, a little nervous, but very honored."

Marshall said it's not unusual for college bands to have two or even three drum majors, but the Pride of Oklahoma is unique in that it only has one.
