Oklahoma City's Public Works Department is gearing up for another long weekend of putting salt and sand along the roads and highways.

After an already exhausting winter weather pattern this season with the on-and-off again weather, the city has already spent more money this year on salt than what was already budgeted; all because of these storm systems that quickly come in, and quickly move out.

"And then, of course, it clears off, so we dismount all of our equipment and then next thing you know, we got to mount it all back up and we're back in snow and ice," Mike Degiacomo of Oklahoma City Public Works said. "So, it's been a real trying couple of weeks."

Still, Degiacomo says crews will be ready to go all weekend.
