Committee approves lottery money bill

Legislation changed the way lottery revenue is given to public schools in that it is now heading to the House floor.

The House Appropriations and Budget Committee approved the bill, which would create a fund to collect and distribute lottery money every six months.

Currently the money goes through the state funding formula along with all other education money.
