If you're on a budget, I've got a great website for you. It's www.angelfoodministries.com. Here you can learn about a special program that provides a senior citizen enough food to last a month, for a cost of just $30.

Each month's menu contains both fresh and frozen foods. A sample of the food you will get for $30 is: five bacon-wrapped beef filets, four pounds of chicken quarters, two pounds of hamburger steaks, one and a half pounds of boneless pork roast, 1.25 pounds of beef short ribs, a 20 ounce supreme pizza, 10 ounces of sliced turkey breast, three pounds of fresh apples, frozen French fries, green beans, onion rings, pasta, pasta sauce, ketchup, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese and a desert item.

The website has a list of host sites where you can pick up the food, and all you need to bring is a large box! There is no income requirement to participate in the Angel Food program, everyone is welcome to participate. Order and pickup dates vary, so you will need to go to www.angelfoodministries.com to find the host site closest to you. You just type in your zip code and the site will search for the nearest site within a ten-mile radius. Payments must be made in the form of cash or money order, and the Angel Food Ministries also participates in the Food Stamp program.
