Voting begins on daycare bill

Committee members are expected to vote this afternoon on a proposed bill designed to keep your children safe while they're at daycare.

Representative Mike Shelton has introduced a measure that would require all child care facilities to carry at least $200 thousand in liability coverage for each incident of negligence that leads to the injury of a child while the child is at daycare.

Shelton wrote the bill when he learned of several recent cases of negligence at daycares in our state.
