Elevated fire danger will continue the rest of this week, with mild and generally pleasant weather. However, the fairly quiet pattern will end by the start of next week.
A storm system will affect Oklahoma Sunday night and into Monday. Strong southerly winds will be sustained at 20 to 40 mph Sunday, with higher gusts. Sunday evening into Monday, there will be a good chance for thunderstorms with a slight risk of some becoming severe.
Stay with NEWS 9, we'll keep you advised of any threatening weather that develops during that time.
The windy weather will continue Tuesday behind the storm system, with northerly winds sweeping cooler air into the state after a week of unseasonably warm temperatures.
