Every four minutes, a person in the United States is diagnosed with colon cancer.
And it's a disease that's preventable.
Cindy Jones was living a very healthy life around the time of her 50th birthday last summer. So the news she received was shocking.
"When I went in for the routine colonoscopy, the physician came back and just set on the side of the bed and told me before the biopsy came back that I have cancer," Jones said.
She had no symptoms of colorectal cancer and she is only 50-years-old.
Nine in 10 new cases are among people 50 years or older. However colorectal cancer does not discriminate. It can happen to men and women at any age.
